Jacko Murphy 200 Games

A massive congratulations to Jackson Murphy, who tomorrow will run out in his 200th senior appearance for the club. In doing so Jacko becomes just the 9th footballer in the clubs history to achieve the milestone.
Jacko started his senior career as an U18 in 2008, before graduating fully the next year and being the clubs Rookie of the Year nominee in 2009. Across his 199 games so far, Jacko has kicked 199 goals, represented the CHFL in interleague in 2012, won the Tom McGuane Medal for the Senior B&F on two occasions, 2019 & 2021, as well as being the runner up in 2010 & 2013, this along with being the voted by his peers as the inaugural Jimmy O’Keefe MVP in 2017, and again in 2019.
No doubt the highlight amongst it all was being a pivotal part, and Vice Captain in the 2014 premiership win. The next year Jacko was elevated to Captain of the club and held that title for seven seasons, up until last year.
As everyone around the club will know, off the field Jacko has been just as important, he is the current number one ticket holder, won the best clubman award in 2018, has been the head of the social committee for countless seasons, along with being the CEO/CFO of the players Footy Trips for the last 10 seasons.
Congratulations Jacko, 200 senior games is no easy feat and hopefully we will be able to come away tomorrow with a win to celebrate.

Footy & netball is back! A busy night last night with U12, U15, U17, Reserves and Senior football and U15, U17, C, B, and A Grade netballers all training and then coming together in the social rooms for dinner.
Club President, Andrew Mahar, welcomed all existing and new members, players and families to the start of the season.
Our senior football recruits and first gamers were introduced – Ben Dodd, Lachlan Thornton, Alex Ross, Jesse Sardo, Tom Cain and Xavier Curran.
On the netball courts we welcomed our new C Grade coach Kirrily Parry and congratulated this year’s Captains, Amy Mahar (A Grade) and Meg Anderson (B Grade).
Our number one ticket holder for 2022 was awarded to a very worthy recipient, Jackson Murphy. Jackson began with the club as a junior and is now one of our respected senior players (also a past captain of the senior group) and is a great leader and contributor to the Club in so many ways.
Tomorrow we play Rokewood at Bungaree, come out for a great day, our members draw will be drawn after the senior football, as always you must be there to win!
Following this we are hosting out first function of the year, and first function in nearly 12 months after Covid ruined our plans last year. It is the ever popular Challenge Night, make sure you stick around for what is always a great night, and a great opportunity to get together again and meet the new faces at the club.
Tomorrow there will be merchandise, memberships, sponsorship packages available and the chips will be cooking!

500 Game Milestone

A massive congratulations to Amanda Clarke, who this weekend will play in her 500th, yes 500th! Game of netball for Bungaree!
Amanda has played in 35 different seasons, and the list of achievements in those seasons is unbelievable, included in them is 21 club best & fairest, 6 league best & fairest, many premierships and remarkably she has never missed a finals series in that time.
This cements Amanda’s place as the netball games record holder at Bungaree, along side her dad, Jimmy O’Keefe, who holds the football games record.
Good luck on the weekend, hopefully another win is in order!
