Round 1 2017 v Dunnstown

Welcome back to the Bungadome for yet another season; the weights have been pressed, the sprints raced through and the running put up with and everyone is chomping at the bit to get cracking.

A huge welcome to all the new players and families that have joined our club over the off season, and to those returning. It promises to be a great year, and perhaps a rejuvenating one with many list changes over the summer across all grades of footy and netball.

Today we host one of our great rivals in Dunnstown and compete for the coveted Mountain Shield. We welcome the Towners back to Bungaree and hope you’ll join us in the rooms both during and after the games for some refreshments.

We’d like to make mention of the huge effort that has gone into the new scoreboard that you can see up and running today, and would like to make special mention to Advanced Precast for their continuing support. We also had a couple of major functions over the off season, with the King and the Prince, Sir Vivian Richards and Brian Lara making their way to Bungaree and entertaining the masses. These shows were expertly ran and a great time was had by all, in particular Brian himself who had such a good time he was a couple hours late to his next engagement.

A quick mention of our movie night tonight using the scoreboard, please speak to your junior coaches for more details on the event, and for those not so fussed, the bar will be open til late to get to know a few of the new faces and catch up with the old. Please hang around and get the year off to a flying start socially!

Please see Matt MacDonald if you haven’t yet purchased your membership for season 2017, and don’t forget that Gold memberships are again available with all the inclusions to social events as well. On the same note, if anyone is seeking to sponsor the club or knows of anyone that would like to, please see Darren Rix and he can go through the options with you. Don’t forget that any player that can attract a new sponsor to the club will get their membership thrown in for free.

Be sure to check out our new and improved website at www.bungareefnc.com.au for all the latest news and info.

Finally, our thoughts are with a great Bungaree person in Stan Mahar, get well soon mate!

Up the Dees!
