Finals Week 2 – 2017

Semi Final Week and we have three sides in action, with a further three taking the week off before next weeks preliminary finals. Our A Grade girls will lead the charge this weekend as they take on Beaufort for the right to face Learmonth on Sunday week. Our U13 and U15 girls are also in action at Learmonth on Saturday, facing Waubra and Newlyn respectively.

Last weekend our senior boys went down to Gordon by 22 points, ending their season. A frightfully bad first half was recovered with a gallant second half, but ultimately the mountain was just that little bit too high to climb.
Zac Denham was outstanding for the Dees and capped off a good second half of the season for himself, whilst Chase Morgan was also outstanding on the big stage.
Congratulations boys on a terrific season, particularly when factoring in our run with injuries this year. It was terrific to be able to blood a large group of young men, and see the development throughout the season that will hold us in very good stead for the 2018 season.

The A Grade strung together a solid performance to run out 14 goal winners at Dunnstown on Saturday and will be confident of replicating their early season win over Beaufort on Saturday.
B and C Grade put in great performances over the old enemy to move to a Preliminary Final. B Grade in particular reversed a poor result from a month ago with their win and can take plenty of confidence knowing their best is good enough.
The U17’s did what the U17’s do and should they record a win next week will go for an amazing 8 in a row, and their 10th consecutive grand final.
The U15’s produced the shock of the weekend going down by 10 goals to Learmonth, but we have full confidence in them for the final three weeks of the season.
The U13’s scrapped a tough 2 goal win over Smythesdale and will look forward to a tough contest with Waubra on Saturday.
