Round 8 2017 v Carngham-Linton

We head to Linton this weekend to take on Carngham-Linton side resurgent with a couple of good wins to their name this season after a lean 2016. The Saints always promise an honest contest so we look forward to a good day of country footy and netball.

Against the other Saints last week the boys were able to put in a decent shift, particularly into the breeze to win by 46 points. The big fella Dave Benson continued his stellar season to be best on ground whilst Macca Sheridan also put in another super performance.

The Two’s played quite well in a game where the scoreline didn’t reflect the contest. Ex Bungaree boy Ryan Knowles was clearly the difference for the match whilst Chris Robertson, Harry Russell and Charles Martin had superb games for the undermanned Dees.

The Junior sides all played well but joined the Reserves in defeat, the U12’s the closest going down by just 2 points after a superb last term.

It was the third consecutive clean sweep of the courts for our netballers with the headline act the A Grade coming away with a 35 goal win to move back into the 8.

All in attendance last week will tell you how good the Hypnotic Playground was last week, with hilarious results from our hypnotised six. For those wondering, Pranga never located that pesky monkey.

The 2017 Annual Bungaree Ball has been rescheduled for July 8 at The Miners Tavern so lock that date into the diary. Tickets are $80 and include 3 ½ hour drinks package, finger food, and entertainment from the outstanding Mad Cow. Get your tickets to what is always one of the showpiece nights of the year.

The Reverse Raffle is next Sunday at the rooms with a first prize of $3,000. Tickets can be obtained for $50 a pop and include 3 hours of happy hour, finger food and a bus back into town. With the public holiday the next day, what better way to spend your weekend than with all your fellow Demons!

Go Dees.
