Grand Final 2017
Our season comes to an end once again and what a great year its been out at the Bungadome! A season whereby all our senior sides were invigorated by youth and a big step up to senior footy and netball was made successfully, holding us in terrific stead for the 2018 season and beyond.
Today marks the culmination of that year, and our B Grade, C Grade, U17 and U15 netballers will get the opportunity to represent the red and the blue on the biggest stage of all and aim to bring home the ultimate glory.
Good luck girls, you’ve done your club very proud win, lose or draw!
Our B Grade girls will be the headline act as they take on a talented Springbank outfit that they were able to overcome in the Qualifying Finals by 10 goals. If the girls can replicate that performance they will be in with a terrific chance of securing their first flag since 2009.
C Grade will aim for back to back premierships when they face Learmonth, the team they defeated in last years decider. These two sides have clearly been the standout in 2017, with the Dees winning their only encounter back in Round 11 by 8 goals.
The Under 17 girls will contest their 10th grand final in a row, and aim for 8 on the bounce when they face an undefeated Hepburn side. Hepburn gave the girls a good touchup when they met way back in Round 3, but the girls can take a lot of confidence in their improvement since then and know that a good 4 quarter performance can take them towards that coveted flag.
The Under 15 girls come up against Learmonth, a side that has saved it best netball for the pointy end of the season and handed the girls their first loss of the season in the qualifying final. This promises to be an absolute cracker to kick off the day, good luck girls!
