2026 Fixture

The 2026 Central Highlands Football/Netball League fixture has dropped, our season opens on Saturday 11 April, the weekend after Easter, with an away trip to Daylesford.
Our first home game follows the week after, when we host Dunnstown for the Mountain Shield. It is always a big day on the calendar and a great chance to kick the year off with a big home crowd.
The league has confirmed two mid-season byes, one for the King’s Birthday weekend and another during the school holidays.
We look forward to seeing everyone in the red and blue for a huge 2026 season.

2026 A Grade Netball Coach

Bungaree Football Netball Club is delighted to announce Bernadette Purton as our A & B Grade Netball Coach for the 2026 season!

Bernadette brings over 25 years of coaching experience across netball and rowing, she has worked with athletes from grassroots through to state and national levels. Her extensive background includes developing athlete pathways, fostering leadership both on and off the court, and contributing to the growth of community sport. Bernadette also holds a degree in Sport and Recreation Management and has worked within a State Sporting Association, bringing valuable insight into athlete and coach development.

In 2025, she led our B grade side to a Preliminary Final, showcasing her ability to develop strong, competitive teams while fostering a supportive and positive culture. When asked about her vision for the role, Bernadette shared “My vision is simple: to maintain and develop a playing group that is both healthy and happy. Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the players across the program, and it’s clear that their energy and joy come from personal fulfilment as athletes, being part of a competitive team, and experiencing the rewards of winning together. My goal is to empower players to step confidently into leadership roles, strengthening both their own growth and the club’s future.”

We’re thrilled to have Bernadette leading our A & B grade sides into 2026 and look forward to the next chapter 🔴🔵

2026 Senior Coach

The Bungaree Football & Netball Club is excited to announce Alex Ross as our senior coach for the 2026 season.
Alex has been assistant coach under Ryan Waight for the past four years and now steps into the top job. His football journey began as a junior at Mt Clear and Redan before injury cut his playing days short. He later returned to the field to play two senior seasons with Bungaree, before unfortunately rupturing his ACL again in the 2023 finals series.
Alex also brings a wealth of coaching experience. He was assistant coach at St Patricks College’s 1st XVIII in 2016, coached his own team at the Mt Clear Junior Football Netball Club in 2017–18, assisted with the AFL Goldfields Talent Squads in 2018, and was a development coach with the Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the Talent League from 2019–21, before joining Bungaree as assistant coach in 2022.
The club went through a coach search, application and interview process which attracted several worthy candidates, and we’re delighted that Alex emerged as the successful choice to lead us into the next phase.
We’re thrilled to have Alex leading our club into 2026 and look forward to the next chapter under his guidance.
