Round 9 2017 v Clunes

We welcome Clunes to the Bungadome today for another great round of country footy and netball. The Magpies have had a tough period after a good start to the season and will be looking to put in a good showing against the Dees today.

The Senior boys were able to come away with a big win last week to move into the top 4 and the onus is now on the side to keep accumulating wins to give ourselves the best possible chance going into the second half of the season. Congratulations to Captain Jackson Murphy on his 150th senior game last weekend, capped off with a best on ground performance.

The Reserves bounced back with a good win, Harry Russell leading the way for the Dees. The U18’s got their second win on the board for the year whilst the U15’s were well beaten, but very competitive against one of the flag favourites. There is certainly plenty of promise in this young group if they can stick together for a few seasons. The U12’s were also narrowly defeated in a good effort.

For the third straight week we swept the courts in the netball, with the girls starting to put together some good netball and give themselves a platform going into the second half of the season.

The Reverse Raffle is tomorrow (Sunday) at the rooms with a first prize of $3,000. Tickets can be obtained for $50 a pop and include 3 hours of happy hour, finger food and a bus back into town. With the public holiday the next day, what better way to spend your weekend than with all your fellow Demons! It’s not too late to grab a ticket so please see one of the team to get yours!

We are hosting a Comedy Night on the 24th of June after the home game against Learmonth, tickets can be bought from the bar today or online from next week. The 2017 Annual Bungaree Ball has been rescheduled for July 8 at The Miners Tavern so lock that date into the diary. Tickets are $80 and include a 3 hour drinks package, finger food, and entertainment from the outstanding Mad Cow. Get your tickets to what is always one of the showpiece nights of the year.
