2022 IS KICKING OFF!

Footy & netball is back! A busy night last night with U12, U15, U17, Reserves and Senior football and U15, U17, C, B, and A Grade netballers all training and then coming together in the social rooms for dinner.
Club President, Andrew Mahar, welcomed all existing and new members, players and families to the start of the season.
Our senior football recruits and first gamers were introduced – Ben Dodd, Lachlan Thornton, Alex Ross, Jesse Sardo, Tom Cain and Xavier Curran.
On the netball courts we welcomed our new C Grade coach Kirrily Parry and congratulated this year’s Captains, Amy Mahar (A Grade) and Meg Anderson (B Grade).
Our number one ticket holder for 2022 was awarded to a very worthy recipient, Jackson Murphy. Jackson began with the club as a junior and is now one of our respected senior players (also a past captain of the senior group) and is a great leader and contributor to the Club in so many ways.
Tomorrow we play Rokewood at Bungaree, come out for a great day, our members draw will be drawn after the senior football, as always you must be there to win!
Following this we are hosting out first function of the year, and first function in nearly 12 months after Covid ruined our plans last year. It is the ever popular Challenge Night, make sure you stick around for what is always a great night, and a great opportunity to get together again and meet the new faces at the club.
Tomorrow there will be merchandise, memberships, sponsorship packages available and the chips will be cooking!

500 Game Milestone

A massive congratulations to Amanda Clarke, who this weekend will play in her 500th, yes 500th! Game of netball for Bungaree!
Amanda has played in 35 different seasons, and the list of achievements in those seasons is unbelievable, included in them is 21 club best & fairest, 6 league best & fairest, many premierships and remarkably she has never missed a finals series in that time.
This cements Amanda’s place as the netball games record holder at Bungaree, along side her dad, Jimmy O’Keefe, who holds the football games record.
Good luck on the weekend, hopefully another win is in order!

Round 9 & Social Calendar Update

We’re back at Bungaree tomorrow as we resume our senior competitions for 2021, make sure you get out to the club to cheer on all of our teams! Please make sure you use the QR code to check in at the gate, carry your mask with you & wear it whilst inside. The members draw is also up to $700, so you will want to be in the rooms at the end of the day to ensure you don’t miss out!
We have some important news in regard to our social calendar for 2021, as you would be aware we were forced to postpone our ball due to the latest lockdown, we have now confirmed a new date for the event. It will be held on Saturday the 14th of August following our round 17 matches against Newlyn. Unfortunately Oscars, and many other venues have already been booked out for this date, so at this stage it will be held at Bungaree, more details will be posted in the coming weeks.
There has already been lots of tickets sold for the event, and we are aware that the new date will not suit everybody, so if for any reason you cannot make the new date and would like a refund on your ticket please email the club at bungareefnc1@gmail.com and we will process you for a refund.
Lastly, also because of the lockdown we were not able to host our Indigenous Round as planned, we will still be holding this day later in the year. At this stage, our senior football & netballers will be wearing the designs and the other items planned for the day will be happening in Round 13 (17th of July), when we take on Waubra. More details on this will be announced closer to the day!
See you tomorrow, #gobunga

Return To Play Update

Good news this week as we have been given the green light to resume all football & netball, across all grades from this weekend onwards.
Crowds will be capped at 1,000 people, and please continue to follow all covid safe protocols, including checking in via the QR codes at the gate.
We will be resuming from round 9, which for us is a home game against Clunes.
Hope to see you at the game Saturday!

BALL POSTPONED

Unfortunately with today’s announcement in regards to regional Victoria’s restrictions for the next week we have no choice but to postpone our Ball which was due to take place this weekend.
We are currently working on securing a new date for the event, once we have this confirmed we will be in touch with all of the details.
Fingers crossed we can be back at the club and in each other’s company as soon as possible!

Round 8 Update

Hi All, please see the below correspondence from the CHFL in relation to this weekends matches, all adult matches unfortunately are not able to go ahead.
“The CHFL Board of management met tonight after the latest Covid announcements today regarding community football and netball advice from the government.
The Board stance is that the leagues juniors will play this weekend to ensure the junior players have every opportunity to play as much football as possible this season.
Match times will remain as is however players must arrive ready to commence play and leave the ground as soon as practicable after their matches finish.
Players, coaches, support staff and any other volunteers required to facilitate the days matches are NOT included in the 50 allowed spectators at the ground.
Parents must abide by a one parent per player attendance rule.
Clubs are asked to request a donation at the gate, this worked well last year during the four weekends the league held junior matches.
Your club may run a canteen but ensure it is under Covid safe procedures.
QR code compliance is vital to host matches, please ensure you follow this protocol. All club members know that they must comply.
Any club who chose not to participate this weekend will have their matches considered a forfeit.”
